I have several pictures that have incorrect dates for when they were taken; this is probably because some of them were taken years ago in the late 90s and have gone through so many pcs and transfers they have the incorrect dates on them

I edited the correct dates into the meta data on iphoto and it saved them, but when i imported it into the new photos app it lists them in the incorrect dates.

Example. A picture i have is listed as being taken in 2000 when I took it in 2014; the camera time was wrong. I corrected it in iPhoto and then imported it to photos and it's wrong. I changed it photos and then it moved it; however I am noticing that this doesn't exactly fix the problem because if I delete the picture then import it again it goes back to placing it in 2000. Do you have to correct the pictures then export them? in windows you could just edit the data at the bottom of the file in picture viewer and it would save it. Also if you export it and then use the get into feature it shows the modified and created date as today; but if you use the info tab in photos it shows the correct date taken; Is the only way to get the date taken meta data in a photos app and not finder?

Thanks!
