I'm trying to install Windows XP using Boot Camp and it's being a pain. I start the installation process with Leopard via the Boot Camp assistant. it tells me to insert the XP disk and then it reboots. the laptop starts the XP installation like normal. but then, when it goes to restart I get some stupid message that tells me there's no bootable device.

this is stupid because it should be booting in to the Windows XP setup process but it isn't. I've tried this process four times with three different (and legit) copies of XP. so now I'm lost and I don't know what to do.

has anyone had these kinds of trouble with Boot Camp? if so, how did you fix it? I'm still within my 14 day return period but I don't want to return it if I don't have to.

You need to re-format the Hard Drive. I had this same problem and after reformatting to NTFS it worked fine.

okay, I'll try that. although, I thought that I could use the FAT32 file system as long as I kept the partition under 32GB.

true or not true?
