Might be interesting how this unfolds - Anarchy v Unity!

http://www.projectanarchy.com

Very interesting. So Unity is free up until you hit a certain amount of revenue while Anarchy is free as long as you stick to iOS, Android, and Tizen (which I've never even heard of before.)

Edit: Okay, looked into Tizen... it may or may not become an actual platform someday... I don't expect it to, though.

I was under the impression the Unity was completely free now. Didn't they make an announcement this year?

From their announcement:
There are no strings attached, no royalties and no license fees. This is just an extension of Unity Free which we launched in 2009. Individual developers and startup studios can simply download Unity and get going on mobile game development. As before, companies and other “incorporated entities” (you know who you are) with a turnover in excess of $100,000 in their previous fiscal year are required to use our paid version. That way, we can keep the lights on and continue to make Unity better for everyone.

Ok, guess I didn't read the whole thing (old bad habit) :D

Now it's just an issue of how powerful and easy to use the engines are.

I've heard good things about Unity, I don't think their price was very high to begin with.

Some of these tools can take a while to get a handle on, I'd like to see a side-by-side compare from someone that's used both.
