So everything else on my receiver I listen to in the 15-25’s. Netflix audio is around 20-24 on average.
This is a Marantz 6013. 5.2.4 setup.
Audio on hbo I have at -5 to 0 to be about as loud as Netflix. Good thing I have a ps4 that gives me normal volumes across the board.
Is the audio quality on hbo on appletv’s just super quiet? I don’t notice any detail loss turning it up to normal levels. Just weird it’s 20db louder to be around the same as other streaming services.

Some services do different things with their audio. HBO and CBS All Access is notorious for it. Supposedly their audio is higher quality. It’s still super quiet IMO. I always have to turn up volume and then turn it back down. But I have to admit that aside from having to turn it up it does sound really good on my HomePods.
