Has anyone tried running shows or movies on HBO go on the retina MacBook Pro through the HDMI port to an HDTV?

It does not work on iPad 3...

The iPad HBOGo app doesn't support external displays. The full computer flash site has no ability to restrict such things. It works over HDMI on OS X, Windows, whatever runs flash.

Yep. It should also work over Airplay Mirroring to an Apple TV box with Mountain Lion.

As long as your laptop supports a 16:9 resolution - otherwise Airplay Mirroring isn't very good. Until you can display just on the TV, Airplay from ML is junk on a 16:10 laptop as you'll have bars around the picture since your TV is almost certainly 16:9.

The HDMI connection does't have this issue as you can either extend the desktop to it or display only on the TV so you get your TV's native resolution.
