Hi, I am probably going to sound like a complete newb here but I am desperate for some help!

I have produced short animated film for a uni assignment in 1080i video. It's cut using Final Cut HD and when I export it as a 1080i quicktime I am having problems playing it on any mac without quicktime 7 or tiger. Most of the time it just doesn't open... What format is the best for export with the least quality drop, and is the most easily played by older setups? .dv is horrible. I am lost.

Also, when i use DVD studio pro I encode the whole lot at 9kbs/sec (highest) and the whole thing still looks pixellated. Only when it is played on a tv does it look crisp. (Even if the tv supports 1080i res!) I am completely confused. Although when I encode it at 1080i usinf iDVD it looks crisp...... although I cannot set specific region codes in iDVD (only PAL or NTSC) and it causing playback issues as most macs I have to display it on only accept certain region codes...

My workshop instructor is completely useless and I am desperate.. I know I must sound like a fool, please be kind.
