Hey guys,

I've had a 160GB external drive by acomdata for about two years now, never had any problems with it. Last week I was most unfortunate to try and turn it on using the power brick from my external lacie DVD-DL drive. They had the same pins!

Anyway the power supply for the enclosure is obviously burnt out. I just got a replacement enclosure by macally for the HD. I'm sure all the data is fine. My question is whether or not the acomdata enclosure is worth trying to salvage. I could definitely put it to use in the future, and I like the look of it. When it stopped working, there was the smell of burning electronics coming from the power port. Do you think it was just a fuse that blew or something else that's easily replaceable? Worth the time/money/effort?

Thanks
