Hi All,
I've recently sold my old 2006 Mac Pro and the new owner is having a problem.

When he switches on the machine the fans ramp up as follows:

Power supply 599rpm
Exhaust 1547rpm
CPU fan 499rpm
HD expansion 2865rpm

I used to have a problem occasionally in that it would happen to me if I move the machine or knocked the drive in slot 1. Reseating always fixed the problem. It appears that this does not fix the problem and moving the drive to other slots makes not difference.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I'm thinking it could be:

But hoping it might be an easy fix. He as already tried an SMC reset and other drives.

Thanks.
