Hi,

I have a white macbook with a 500gb HD Momentus XT.
Now I bought a macbook pro 15 early 2011 and put the HD in it.

Apparently, everything is working. But the O.S. (lion) crashed once, having to restart. Diablo 3 beta is crashing when click start game, after choosing the character. Some Java applications is crashing to sometimes.

Do I need to format the drive?

I'm waiting a Crucial M4 128gb Sata3 SSD, i will put this with the original 750gb in the optbay.

I don't know what you're asking ... But if you're asking if you need to format the drive because it was once in a Macbook, then the answer is no, that's an unlikely reason for your crashes.

Did you simply pull the drive out of the MacBook and put it in the MBP? If so, it may not have all the drivers to be fully compatible with the MBP. A clean install of Mac OS X should help.

Yes, i do that.

Is there a way to install the new drivers without a clean install?

I already did the update software (EFI, security patch ...)

If i do a clean install i can recovery all backup from Time Machine in Time Capsule?

A lot of work. Reinstall everything now and then, when the SSD, reinstall it again.

And how can i reinstall? I install lion through App Store. Do i need do a bootable USB or is there a way to reinstall through Mac Os Lion Install.app?
