So everytime i boot my macbook, my hard drive icon moves. I place it in the top right corner, when i restart or the next time i boot its no longer there, its in a different place. How can i solve this?

In Finder, choose View->Show View Options (⌘-J), then tell it to keep desktop items arranged by name, type, whatever. That should do the trick.
that way would probably work, however it re-arranges my desktop icons and i dont like the order it puts them in. Ive never had this problem before i cant understand why the hell its happening now
