Hi,

I'm curious to why Apple would use the lightning port for HD music. I have B&W P7 headphones ($400/£330) and they use the 3.5mm jack. So my question is, what is wrong with the normal 3.5mm jack port we are all used to if our headphones are amazing quality, most likely better than any Beats/future Apple headphones?

Thanks

Not sure why you opened a new thread to ask this because I am pretty sure this was being discussed somewhere ...

however, first of all its not confirmed that Apple would do this
secondly, if they do, it will be because of size ... to make iPhone any more slimmer they have to get rid of the round port of 3.5mm and instead of creating a totally new standard for audio jack (which is flat), they might end up using the lightning port itself
