When I mount it (via an external enclosure), it only shows 1.8TB. I've reformatted in disk utility and there's only one partition. OSX 10.9.5. Any ideas? Should I just send it back?

D drambuie macrumors 6502a Feb 16, 2010 751 1 Jan 9, 2015 #2 Check the specs on the external enclosure. Not all enclosures have a full 4TB capacity per drive. Some are limited to 2TB and some to 3TB drives.
