All right, so I'm heading to Hawaii in a few weeks and being that I'm heading from NYC halfway around the world, I'd like to have a few movies to keep me busy on the 16 hour flight.
I recently downloaded a movie that's in full 1080p and it's about 2gb maybe a little less. For some reason even though its a .mp4 file, neither QuickTime nor iTunes will recognize it. I decided to use some freeware to convert it into an HD .mov file which imported into iTunes easily. The only problem is now the file is 7gb!
I tried using iTunes "convert to iPad" tool but it keeps giving me some error and it wasn't remedied by an itunes reinstall so I'm really stuck.
Maybe if a had a 64 gb iPad I wouldn't care much about the file size but I mainly use this thing for email and reading so a 7gb movie just rapes my storage.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, the same movie is 3 gb in iTunes store and it's in 1080p as well, so I know it possible ha.
Any freeware suggestions, tips, tricks, etc are appreciated.
