HD with 10.6 installed is not showing up on desktop.

I have had 10.6 on my early 2008 macbook for about 2 weeks. One of the first things i noticed was the fact that my hardrive that 10.6 is installed on is not showing up on my desktop like it used to in 10.5. Has any one else had this problem. I have also updated to 10.6.1 but that did not sort the problem out. Please if any one has any suggestions as to what to do to get it to show up please do tell me.

Click on Finder in the Dock. Then go to Finder at the top, click preferences. General Tab. Check the Hard Disks box. Done

It's not a problem. If you go to the Finder preferences -> under the General Icon there will be a "Show these items on the desktop: Just check the Hard Disk item.
