Bought this MacBook 2009 (last one before the unibody models) offered without HDD. Turns out the HDD is in there, but without the cage.
Does the cage fix the HDD? As far as I see it does not. (Looked at an identical Macbook.) Or do the big screwheads play some role in fixing? They are visibly oversized.
 
I am assuming you referring to a white MacBook. The caddy in a the white books is real thin and really only provides the white strip to pull it out.
