HDD Cloning

Hi Guys,

I normally clone my OSX. Currently i am trying to clone my Mavericks 10.9.3 into a larger HDD via Carbon copy cloner, but i seem to get this error message.

I have already erased and partition my HDD (Mac os extended journaled) a couple of times...but the error suggest of a HFS+ format...

How do i overcome this...thanks...

This may help, if you haven't seen it already: "My disk is already formatted HFS+, why am I getting this warning?"

Quick-n-dirty answer:

Re-initialize the external drive to HFS+, journaling enabled, GUID partition format.

Then try CCC again.

Hi, thanks for the link....it was much helpful. I has indeed on the first attempt...preceeded to clone while ignoring the error warning..... I couldnt boot fromtye cloned drive.... The link which provided has refreshed my memory... About the. MBR or GUID.. Will give it a spin.... Cheers
