Ok, this is seriously the last time I ever encrypt any of my HDD's or partitions. So I encrypted 1 partition from an hdd that has 3 total partitions. So I changed my mind and decrypted it, but it's still looking for a password on start-up. Ok, so I enter it and I gets to the Apple logo screen and it gets stuck. So I boot from the other partition to try and use disk utility on the problem partition. It's greyed out and only gives me the option to unlock it not mount. But when I type the password it pauses for a few seconds and then ultimately rejects it. The password is correct as I said when I try and boot from that partition it gets me to the Apple logo screen. I've repaired the entire hdd and everything kinda looks ok, however some of the jargon looks a little different than what I'm used to seeing. I can't repair that partition as it won't mount. I have a cloned back-up that I'm prepared to use if necessary, but I'd rather not if I don't have to as there are a few newer files that I'd like to save and that I didn't get a chance to back-up. Any thoughts? Thanks. If there is a thread already going on that would help kindly direct me there and I'll delete this one

Edit: I unplugged the power cord for a few minutes. I took out all of my internal hdd's and put back only my start up disk with multiple partitions. It couldn't locate either of my 2 start up partitions, even holding down the option key. Got the ? Folder. So I put back all my internal hdd's again and for some reason it could find them. Weird. It still won't boot the partition in question, however one kinda good sign is that the Mac doesn't start out with the black screen looking for login and password. The partition still will not unlock or mount
