WD Scorpio 320gb 7200rpm
will it work in unibody MBP? (in my sig?)
preferably first person answer, but any will be appreciated.
by all logic it should work flawlessly, but my retaier said its not tested yet by him personally (computers are picky, no matter what, and this retailer is one of those who know their stuff)

You know, searching would actually be quicker than posting and WAITING for someone to answer your inquiry.

But the answer is: You'll be fine, given that the drive is 2.5".

im just curious, why didnt you have anytime to search? other than an ebay purchase i cant think of any reason why you couldnt take the time to do research, but maybe im dumb haha

beacuse i have tons of stuff in my head and i need it pronto,
searching "WD Scorpio" and similar didnt give any good results.

anyway, THANKS, i thought it should work, but he said he had problems with certain brands in previous MBP's and there are no 7200 seagates on stock in any store here..

im glad i made some of you laugh:p

NAH im just kidding, i just made an aprils fool out of all of you.
nah seriously... postal services in this country are crap also, so i need to order it today and i need it by friday. :) so thanks Honestly

**** i just realized how dumb this thread made me look

nah, it didn't really make you look dumb. you wanted to know if something you were buying would work in a computer and you posted it here. it's alright.

If it's a SATA drive, it will work. WD has a pretty good track record with macs. And I have a Scorpio black 320 GB 7200rpm drive in my UMBP. Very fast drive.

I'm actually using that drive in my unibody MBP. Works very well. No problems at all.

****, i almost bought it. but i didnt.
it was WD3200BEKT, and it lacks the Free Fall sensor.
the WD3200BJKT is out of stock :S
and i need a drive. crap :S

You want the one without the free-fall sensor, because your MBP already has it enabled. Chances are if the drive also has it, there would be a conflict. Get the Scorpio Black that does not have the free-fall sensor option. The WD Scorpio Blue series (as of last check) do not have that option anyway, and they work just fine in the MBP. I installed the WD500gig Scorpio Blue last week, and all is well.

Amazon.com has them both in stock - 86 for the non-free fall and 95 for the free-fall hd.
