How much HDD space is required for Tiger? I have a 15 giger in my iBook and really to put a bigger HDD in there, really means to just buy a new computer. I don't want to do that yet.

The only real reason why I am even considering getting Tiger is because of how cheap it is with the Student Discount.

How does buying a bigger hard drive mean buying a new computer

Just buy a drive, they're dead cheap now.

Requirements
Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
Built-in FireWire
256MB of RAM
3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)

I guess my logic does warrent some explaination:

1. Shrike was about 500

2. Shrike's Airport cost about 70

3. Extra Ram was about 120

4. New Drive would be what 100 or so?

In that sense I have spent the same amount as it would have been to buy a new Mac to begin with. There is then two more issues I have:

1. I heard swapping HDD's in these is a pain.

2. I had the problem with my RAM in that it helped fry my Mac's Logic Board (in addition to the recall). So I had to send it back to the company and they made me special RAM. Would that be the case with a HDD?

Also thank you for that info, was it on Apple.com? I looked and couldn't find it. Course, I looked from when I was in the store, so perhaps that made a difference...
