Hi all,

I am shortly going to be buying a new MBP 15".
Looking at the order form online I see you can change the HDD from 750Gb 5400rpm to 500Gb 7200rpm for no charge.

What I'd like to know is will I notice any difference in speed of the computer by going for the faster rpm drive? I mainly use my current MBP for Aperture, Word and Internet.

The loss of 250Gb is not such an issue for me as all of my images are moved to an external HDD once the editing is done on the internal drive.

Thanks all for the advice.

if space is not an issue in this case as you state, just go with 7200rpm as they as faster. as far as how noticeable it is would be arguable.

i just this week swapped a 5400rpm drive to a 7200. The difference is definitely there, but its not world-changing speed.
