Hello everyone, how fast are HDD's? SDD's typically have sequential access speeds (read and write) listed but no such luck with HDD's. All you get is the seek time. So is there a way to tell what the sequential access speeds are for HDD's?

Good question, I've been wondering this myself. Generally, some benchmark sites have good graphs comparing speeds between SSDs and HDDs.

Generally speaking, SSDs will result in your system feeling snappier and programs loading almost instantly (I remember on my old SSD-based macbook, most programs didn't take more than one bounce, where as when I had the regular hard drive they would sometimes take 4+).

For copying large files though I hear hard drives are as fast if not faster. This may have changed now that SSDs are getting faster, though.
