My old MBP 2013 (512 HD but normally using 375-450 of it) took an age to do time machine backups. Often I would only do this monthly, so if it was 6gb to do it would take a while to prepare then often over an hour at least to do this (never timed it but just seemed an age).

With the new 14", using USBC, will I get much quicker times with a HDD or is it really only SSD that will make a difference.

Also thinking of getting keyboard for desk work (day job). Using a cheap dell one so doesn't do some functions. Logitech keyboards are not much cheaper than Apple so expect apple to be the best one (want the numeric keypad).

Torn between mouse and trackpad. Used to trackpad on MBP for photos and video (and all other stuff). At the desk it will be using 2/3 screens, lots of excel (or google sheets) with some PPT or Word stuff. Not sure if the mouse is too low profile for me, but not sure I can get used to trackpad either (even though I use it all the time on the actual MBP). What do you use and why do you prefer what you use?
