I'm looking to upgrade my Mid'09 Macbook (white 13"). It has a 160GB in right now and I would like to upgrade to either 320 or 500. But I'm not sure how to tell if it'll fit/work with my macbook.

Any suggestions on drives? and is there a big performance increase between 5400RPM and 7200RP?

The new drive needs to be SATA 2.5" and no taller than 9.5mm. I have the Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB (7200rpm) and it's performed wonderfully for over a year. I first installed it into my White First Gen MacBook and later moved it into my Aluminum MacBook. Worked great in both. -GDF

so if it's 2.5" it should be within 9mm right?

well how the hell are you supposed to know what size it is then? Newegg doesn't have any specific specs except that it's 2.5" that's it.

nvm... looked at WD site.
