HDEarase3.3 to return X25M to native speed

hi,
given the noted performance deterioration with SSDs as they are being used, i found that many people do a secure erase of the intel x-25m with HDErase 3.3 every 6 months or so. i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this on a mac and could provide step by step instructions. the walk throughs of this procedure that i have been finding seem to be pc specific. thanks.

Have you updated to the newest firmware? It seems to fix the problem of performance degradation.
