Last time I checked, there weren't any good alternatives to Apple's $40 "Digital AV Adapter." Couldn't find anything on monoprice either...

a few new third party ones for $20, $15 used.

idk if the ipad supports the cydia tweak "resupported" but that allows you to use your ipod video adapter on iphone.
