not sure what I should do? I'd go more into detail but I figured it would be as simple as plugging in the connections and changing the tv/video to HDMI and "wha-la".

tv: Panasonic PT-50LC14
computer: 2008 (black) macbook
Dynex dvi-hdmi cable + dynex rca cables.

I tried searching google and here, didn't find much that helped. Anything specific to try? download? or programs that I'd need to use? Thanks
 
HDMI = digital signal
RCA = analog signal

Signal must be digital OR analog all the time, it can't be changed from digital to analog.

You need DVI to video adapter and then use S-video or composite cable.
