I bought a Monoprice HDMI mini DisplayPort that i connected from my i7 iMac to my Onkyo 606 reciever,
When I played a movie on Snow Leopard I could choose on the sound menu (Encoded Output) and it would bitsream the audio letting the receiver do the decoding since the iMac would pass the sound as stereo and not true DTS.
When i tried this after installing lion i get no sound and it makes VLC crash.
Is there a solution for this?
Don't mean to be paranoid but if apple block this option just so we have to buy their own accessories it's pretty freaking lame.
I hope that's not the case, but i don't see how it worked before and not anymore.
