Hi all.

I have just purchased a 40" Samsung LCD 1080 & wondered what was the best surround sound/dvd system to get? I have had a quick look in store when I purchased my tv (hours of research went into it) but my attention was on the kit I was getting & felt the seller had bias.
Things I would like/need to consider & compare are:
1. plugging your iPod in
2. output (wattage)
3. hdmi & optical connectivity
4. Tall boy speakers (sad I know but they look so cool!)

As usual your experience on this is greatly appreciated!:D

Do you want an all in one package (receiver and speakers), or are you willing to purchase components individually?

Also, what is your budget?

I'd suggest a Yamaha receiver, as their Cinema DSP modes are quite good but it depends on how much you can afford to get HDMI compatibility.

I'm not sure the speaker style you're choosing will give you the sound you want, though.

thanks for the replys.

I don't have a preference about a complete package and buying seperatly sounds like a good plan as I guess I would get the best of both worlds?

Budget wise I was thinking of aboutbetween £250-400 but would consider anything if its worth it.

I welcome your suggestions & url links would be fantastic!:D
