Does anyone make an HDMI input that's lag free for the MacBook Pro? I've heard the black magic one has issues displaying a lag free hdmi feed. I basically want to use my macbook as a screen.

Nope, doesn't exist.

You have no port that is physically wired to the internal screen, so ANY capture device will show lag since it has to be processed before being displayed. Plain and simple.

An external monitor is cheap, why don't you just buy one with an HDMI input?

I'm using this as part if a portable setup. So having one less screen to carry around is helpful.

Hmmm...
