Hdmi not working

Just bought the hdmi connection kit and when I connect my iPad to hdmi I get nothing and sometimes the iPad screen will flash on my tv but then it goes back to no signal...

My iPad is jail broken but I don't think that's the problem because I tried to hook my girlfriends iPhone 4 which isn't jail broken and it doesn't work either...

Could it be my tv? Or maybe the hdmi cable? But the hdmi cable works on my ps3 and xbox so idk what...

It's either your digital adapter cable or your TV. If the HDMI is cable is working with other devices, you can cancel that out. Also the iPhone 4 doesn't mirror. If you want to try it on an iPhone, you'll need to try it with something that supports video out.

Well could my iPad not be working because it is jail broken?

I wouldn't know as my iDevices aren't jailbroken. Since there are apps that don't function while jailbroken, I guess it's a possibility.
