I am an early 2019 MAC Pro that I upgraded to 5.1 and am now running mojave the current version.

I am using a Radeon 580 Metal card.

I have hooked up to the card now a dell via hdmi and it is running fine.

I bought a new monitor. A samsung 32inch. And hooked it up via hdmi. and it will not recognize.

The new monitor works fine with the windows 10 pc via hdmi with the same cable.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rick

I am interested in this thread. I have an RX 480 I am about to put in my Mac Pro 2012. I am unclear exactly which 4K monitors the RX 480/580 will support. Is your Samsung a 4K monitor? What I have gathered so far is that our cards should support 4K on HDMI at 60Hz and 4K on the Display Port at up to 120Hz. Our cards should be able to drive 2 4K monitors or 1 5K monitor. Can anyone confirm that is correct?
I want to buy 2 4K 120Hz Monitors that use Display Ports this week.
Thanks everyone.
