Hello,
For years, I have used my old MacMini 2010 as a "smart tv". Recently, I've got a Chromecast to this task and decided using my MacMini as an office desktop. That's a pretty decent machine, since it has a 480GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. However, the image looks compressed on the HDMI-connected display, showing artifacts that remind jpeg compression. The MiniDP output seems fine, but I'm not really sure; my main monitor is the HDMI one.
Any ideas? From the mid-2010 Mini specs, it should support a 2560x1600 display connected to the MiniDP port and a 1080p display from the HDMI port.
