I have an Apple Studio Display for my MacBook Pro 16". Works great. However I would love to use it with my Gaming PC.
The PC has a Thunderbolt 4, but when I connect it to the display, I get black screen, although sound works. No idea why. I can connect the PC to a a lot of other display through that port and Thunderbolt cable, to issues.

The closest I got to getting a picture was researching how to connect an HDMI source to the Apple Studio Display, as in Nintendo Switch and SteamDeck. I came upon this Club 3D 4K 60Hz HTML to USB Type C Video Cable HDMI 2.0 (CAC-1334). It works for Switch and SteamDeck (no sound) but when I connect my PC, it show a picture but flickers really bad. Flickers = Screen turns on and off in rapid succession (1/2 sec black, 1/2 sec picture). It does look like 4K... I try to scale down to 1080p I Windows 11, but no luck. Same issue.

Any ideas what else I can try?

Thanks!

CAC-1335 or CAC-1336 might be able to get 5K or 6K. I don't know of any other adapters that can convert from HDMI to USB-C/DisplayPort resolutions greater than 4K width. There's a high chance it might not work since Thunderbolt displays are finicky.

You might have better luck connecting with DisplayPort instead of Thunderbolt. Use a Belkin Charge and Sync cable or other method to convert HBR2 + USB 2.0 to USB-C.

What GPU does the PC have? It needs to support DSC to get 6K (Nvidia RTX or AMD Navi or Intel Irus Plus or Xe).
