I had to replace my AVR Receiver with a Yamaha RX-A4A and am having issues with my new AVR not showing up in the "Sounds" section of System Settings of my MacMini running MacOS 15.3. The previous AVR was also a Yamaha.
On initial hookup prior to installing the AVR into its cabinet, it did show up, but after installing into the cabinet, no longer shows up. It turned out that the cabinet is too shallow for the AVR and ithe AVR was hitting the cabinet back, with the doors closed, I feared that the HDMI cable was damaged so replaced the cable No change, however, I still get the image of the MacMini on my TV screen and the TV does show up in the "Sounds" section of System Settings, which is connected through the AVR, but that defeats the purpose of having the my Home Theater speakers hooked up to the AVR instead of through the HDMI cable.
