HDMI on the mini Pro as been driving me crazy. My Dell U3818DW has been well tested on a CMPro and has been working reliably.
On the mini Pro, I occasionally I get a black screen (annoying) and then once a day as "tssssk" hiss with no HDMI sound after. The audio channel is still visible in sound> I have to turn the monitor off and on to get actual sound back. I have tried multiple cables to no avail.
I also have a monitor USB-C input, but do not want to waste a TB5 port on this. I also like to occasionally use it with a MacBook.
Has anybody else seen this? Are there any solutions?

I have the black screen issue on an M2 Mini. It's connected via hdmi to a Samsung TV and every so often the screen will go black for a few seconds. Sound cuts out too until screen comes back on. I keep meaning to try swapping to another hdmi cable to see if it's a cable issue. It's like it loses all connection for that couple of seconds. I haven't experienced totally losing sound though.

Try a DIFFERENT HDMI cable.
Try the USBc method.

If you can't get HDMI working to your satisfaction, and USBc appears to work better, then...
"Use what works", and let things go at that.
