HDMI to display port adapter for new mac mini

I have a Dell U2412M monitor which does NOT have HDMI. I have display port. Will a HDMI to display port adapter work for the new mac mini? My 2010 mac mini used mini display port to display port adapter. Don't want to get a new monitor if I can help it. Thanks
 
Disregard. In the box of my 2010 mac mini had a DVI to HDMI adapter. Working great. No issues on waking from sleep from what I have read in other threads.
