Hi all

i have a 13 inch macbook pro is there a cable to conect it to a hdmi input like say a mini dvi to hdmi or do i have to buy different cables?

thanks

hdmi

i thought HDMI carrys sound or dosnt it carry sound over the mini dvi connection?

I don't think you can do that. You can only transmit sound from your computer to your TV.
well i have an XLR mic which i connect to my home theatre. Then i want to connect my my home theatre to my computer. any thoughts?

yes HDMI does transfer sound but it mini-dVI don't

You need a Mini-Displayport to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable. All of this can be found cheap on Monoprice.com

I would actually reccomend getting Monoprice's Mini-Displayport to DVI cable, and a DVI to HDMI cable. This is what I did and it saved me from buying two adapters. I can now hook my MBP up to an HDMI port, or up to an external DVI monitor. Hope this helps.

P.S. don't buy the adapter from apple, it's exorbitantly overpriced.
