HDR switching on Mac OS?

I have my MBA running 11.5 connected to an external monitor most of the time.
HDR works if I enable the HDR checkbox in displays .
As expected, HDR videos look great but regular text rendering looks odd with HDR enabled

TVOS on apple TV allows for HDR switching when available i.e. switch signal to HDR only when HDR content is played .
Is there any way to do the same on Mac OS?
