I’ve had my Apple TV 4K for a few months and I have the Dynamic Range match turned on so it will switch properly between HDR and SDR.

For some reason, everything is now playing in HDR (and won’t switch back you SDR during regular content).

Does anyone else know how to fix this?

Anyone?

I have Match Content turned on for Range and for some reason my Sony TV won’t switch to standard mode when SDR content is playing...but it used to a few weeks ago.

I leave mine on standard mode and it switches to HDR as needed. I don’t know it’s its ever switched to SDR mode from HDR though.

John.

Try turning 'Range' off as that seems to push practically everything to HDR!
Because 99% of the films that I love on iTunes are NOT in 4K HDR/DV, I've found my TV likes the ATV left in SDR with auto switching for HDR and of course, frame rate.

@ghsNick Sorry for the dumb question, but have you tried rebooting both your ATV 4K and TV? That's what I must do when HDMI-CEC/Bravia Sync goes banana. I understand this is instead HDR related, but who knows..

Actually, power cycling the TV (unplug the power supply for few seconds) is usually a better idea.

The power cycle on the Sony TV did it!
