Do you want to use THE iMac as secondary display or TV or do you want to connect a secondary display or TV to the iMac?
I think (s)he's asking if it's possible to having a second display as well as a TV connected to the iMac at the same time.

As far as I know only the 2011 27" iMacs can run multiple extra displays standard, whereas the 2009 model cannot due to having only one MDP?, but I could be wrong.

Ah, that makes more sense now. Must have been to tired to fully decipher the OP.

One could use Matrox DualHead2Go or some USB to VGA adapter for that, but dual display via MDP is not supported like with 2011 Macs.
