Filmed a Church Event and just decided to use iMovie for importing purposes.
First tape went perfect (sort of
) importing seemed not to be an issue.
The import process was always 100% Real Time and never once glitches.
After Tape #1 rewinds I look at the imported footage. Oddly all the clips are out of sequence!
The beginning of the video is at the end the middle is at the start!? I also noticed only 16 mins of footage while my HDV tape had 60 mins.
I close iMovie08 reopen and BAM - everything is fixed. All 60 mins and all in the proper order/flow.
I figured this is just a fluke and then continued with my next import....
Now its time for Tape #2 - It rewinds and then starts the import. 2 seconds into the import it stops and rewinds the tape. It begins to import and then 2 seconds into the import it stops and rewinds the tape AGAIN!! The repeats over and over and over - with the footage never importing - just a blue screen.
I shut off the camera and restart - same issue.
I close iMovie08 and then turn on the camera - same issue.
I shut down my Mac Pro and then iMovie08 and then the Sony Camera - same issue.
I tried to import the footage one last time but this time instead of adding Tape #2 to my exisiting project - I let iMovie add it as a new import - BAM - everything works.
I understand that I can join the two events into one later but does anyone else have this same issue?
Can someone shed some light on exactly may of had gone wrong?
