i would like to know how nmuch this machine can be pushed- in real world terms, not by opinion. Im very torn between this machne and shellign out 600+ more for a quad or nehelam mac pro.

Without a headless midrange mac, my options are only this machine and a refurbed tower, and i have been doing the math and going over the reviews for days. I have a full setup on my old g5, and i like the have the ability to pop in a new graphics card, have multiple internal & firewire based drives attached. I even thought about a corei5, but all the problems im reading about ha me spooked and its only a 200 dollar difference from that and the tower.

My goal is to be able to work with motion, final cut, and after effects, so I am looking for input from someone who is using this particular machine to work with these apps. I really dont want an imac, but my g5's video card is fried and I already have a 24" monitor that i work off of. the lowest priced Nehelam tower with only 3gbs or ram that i can find is 2400 bucks.

So can someone using this machine, or the 27inch core2, give thier impressions of how much you can push this type of work?

thx
