hey guys, iv wondered these forums a bit but never decided register. but now i have something id like to ask of you.
I have an emac. Im very comfortable with the guts of the thing and want to make a box for the logic board. iv used the eserver guide extensively. I have a 1GHZ emac with ati graphics. not sure which generation but the pics on the eserver guide were identicle to mine
The problem is with the heatsink on one side and the DCB being huge. The box is looking to be pretty big on paper. My questions are this
1) If i use a regular PeeCee heatsinks for the emacs cpu what sort of size and spec should i look for keeping in mind i dont want it two tall. From what iv seen the G4 has a much lower heat output than a pentium or the likes, so i should be fine. no?
2) The size of the DCB isnt unreasonable, but its shape is rather inconvenient. Iv thought about moving but that seems rather silly. Is it possible to use emac without DCB? if so can someone post a guide. Iv used looked right through this thread but its irelevent to my machine.
Any other advice you can offer is also appreciated.
Thank you VERY much.
