Am I hallucinating? When i plug my earbuds (they are good ones) into the iPad, I think the sound quality sounds better when i plug my earbuds into the iPad 2, than it does in my 2008 MacBook Pro. Placebo effect? Or Legit?

I think you're just imagining things. I know the iPhone 4 has a significantly lesser sound quality than the iPad, and the MacBooks provide the best quality of all. Perhaps it's the hissing sound that comes from an ungrounded connection (in your Mac)?

Its not really hissing, the sound just sounds harsher, like more treble. The Pro's sound definitely gets louder though..

I tend to agree.

Yeah maybe it's because the drivers are off on your 08' pro. But on my 11 mob I def believe the sound quality is better then when I'm listening on my pad or phone. It def is louder, but i don't believe it's harsher on my end, try the iPhone without an EQ off if that could be the case.

Odd.
