I have heard that some of the recent iPods with the metal housings have problems with headphones that have an exposed metal ring around the plug. I have Koss PortaPro headphones which I really love, and was wondering if anybody has any experience concerning these. They have a right-angle plug that has a large portion of the metal exposed before getting to the plastic. Has anybody here used these or similar with the new shuffle, nano, or classic?

I have tried some with exposed metal on the touch, and it worked fine. Cannot recall the brand though.

All headphones with 3.5 mm jacks are compatible with iPods. At the electronics retailer that I work at, I've actually had fights with customers about this. One man started screaming at me, just repeating "No! The iPod headphones. Not these!" over and over again when I took him to headphone sections.
