headphone disable sound

So I dropped my phone with the headphone installed - on the rug. I picked it up and the headphone had snapped in two. I thought i had pulled out the little insertion tube until I noticed no sound. I took it to the apple storewhere they told me I may have to buy a new phone. WHAT????! The stupid $30 headphone snaps and I have to buy a new phone? The only trhing wrong with the phne is their headphone snapped in it. "I" have to buy a new phone?????

Last I checked, they didn't drop it, you did.

Take it to one of those Asian repair shops. We have little fingers and can probably get the broken piece out.
