Hi i have a new MBP and for some weird reason the last few days the dead phone jack stopped working when i plug it in it almost sounds like a really snatched cd. When reboot it works again. Its happened a few times now wondering if anyone has run into this problem? its starting happening to the speaker as well
a jumping in the sound. Can't make anything out.

the only thing i can think of that i've done differently is i repaired the permissions and ran a weekly clean up with the program MainMenu.

Any ideas?? thanks for the help

Try using compressed air to blow any debris out of the headphone jack port.

Be careful to hold the can upright!

Also try plugging in/unplugging the headphones repeatedly to clear anything that may be in there

i don't think that's the problem its happening with internal speakers too
And a restart of the computer or the program (such as itunes) fixes the problem
its very random and comes and goes.
