Just speculating on the rumors here:

From a design perspective, I can understand a reason for it.

From a user perspective it is baffling to me.

I absolutely hate it and can make no sense of it.

So, my question is why would you want the headphone jack on the bottom?

I also don't see the problem. How is it strictly worse from a user perspective? If anything, it is less in the way coming out the bottom of the phone rather than the top.

It's a bad idea if you use the headphone jack to listen to music in your car. With the new design, you'll have to lay your phone in your cup-holder upside down.

I personally prefer it on the bottom. If I'm wearing a holster or have it in my pocket, it's easier to lift it out and and be able to look at the screen without having to flip it over--same goes for an armband. I can certainly understand how it inconveniences those using an aux line in a car--thankfully I'm able to use Bluetooth.

Isn't another potential benefit of relocating it to the bottom the inclusion of a more robust front facing camera since they are in such close proximity on the 4s?
