Hey guys...

I just got a steal of a deal for a 1st gen ipod touch 32gb. The only problem is that the headphone jack only plays out of the left side. I realize that the headphone jack needs replaced. I have a replacement jack, but I'm not sure I need it. I'm trying to avoid soldering them stinkin little contacts as much as possible.

I would like, if it can be done, to fix the contacts inside before i go desoldering and resoldering. Possible? Anyone ever done this? I've googled and youtube and it seems no one has covered replacing the headphone jack itself.

Thanks guys!

Meh.... Nevermind.

I took it all apart, soldered it and it works great.

Mods can delete this if necessary. :D

Can you give some detail on how you went about this? my ipod touch 2g 32gb headphone jack seems to be bad now. Any little movement makes the sound weird and I have to push hard and turn the headphones in the jack to make it work.
