Headphone Options for 1st Gen Touch

I am trying to find out if there is an option of headphones that will work in the 1st generation touch that will allow you to change songs and volume like you can in the later generations. The regular apple headphones that come with the newer iPods do not work - you get sound fine - but not the control.

Headphone wise it is not possible, the 1st Gen Touch only has a 3 pin audio socket instead of the 4 pins needed for the control mechanism to work. The only way you could get some sort of remote control happening with the 1st Gen is via the dock connector.

Or something like the FiiO E1 which is a mini signal booster\amp
